“This website was prepared for all the wonderful people I met on my trip to the US, while attending the Living Future 24 conference held in Atlanta, Georgia.
The International Living Future Institute (“ILFI”) connects people, from a diverse range of fields, many with decades of expertise, from whom we can all learn, on how to jointly build a better future for our children and next generations. The main focus of the organisation is on the built environment, with an emphasis on building healthy communities in sync with nature.
I’ve been quietly humming a similar song in my community, but now I would like to sing a little louder, knowing I have found a lovely choir to learn from and sing with.
This portfolio is my way of thanking you all for the experience and it is a small step towards spreading the word about the ILFI community and the people I met in and around Atlanta. Thank you for the inspiration, I am grateful and I will see you next year, if not earlier.”

About the International Living Future Institute:
“The International Living Future Institute brings together a community premised on the belief that providing a compelling vision for the future is a fundamental requirement for reconciling humanity’s relationship with the natural world … At ILFI, we envision a future where our planet and humanity are thriving, and we work towards that future every day. We refer to this future as the Living Future.” (https://living-future.org/about/)
About Charles Kasprzak:
Charles Kasprzak is a student and educator by heart. Education and story telling has been key in the development of his most notable projects which have resonated with others.
He is a board member responsible for organisational development in one of the largest smoked salmon processing companies in the world - Milarex. The factory is located in the City of Słupsk in the north of Poland, on the Baltic coastline. The company is the largest employer in the City of Słupsk with a population of 90,000.
Charles, among other things, uses his role in the organisation to increase awareness of the importance of a healthy balance with nature. He has a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management with a major in Photomedia, and First class honors in Creative Industries (Photomedia), each from Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth, Western Australia.
His honours project Picturing the Swan: A photographic ethnography of the Swan River in Western Australia was completed under the wonderful guidance of Max Pam and Rod Giblett - with exceptional support from many people, especially his wife Agata and colleague and friend Chris Quinn (Western Australia).
In 2015 Charles received recognition for the Swan River project from the Perth Centre of Photography (“PCP”) and was exhibited, together with eight other artists representing Australian photo media, by the Australian Centre for Photography (“ACP”) in Island-Australia at the PhotoIreland international photography festival.
“In the complex world we live in, there are so many stories that we deal with every day, family life, work, business, political and economical realities, entertainment, culture, art, but the fundamental story of our natural world is often forgotten in all of this. Our job as members of communities is to continue the story-telling of the fundamentals of life and to be authentic in this strange plastic world humans have created. I do this to some small extent in my community in Poland. However, I am inspired by the community I have met at the LF 24 conference and the projects and ideas I have seen presented. I have gained some additional understandings that will help me move things along in my community and allow me to continue to learn for myself. Most importantly, I have gained some confidence and hopefulness in these perturbed times.” Charles Kasprzak.
